Assisi - Italy #1 (PT/EN)
Vamos continuar com os post da viagem da Italia? Hoje será o dia 1, o momento que pousei em território Italiano.
Esse dia foi basicamente para viagem, comer e dormir! Mas vamos por partes...
O vôo chegou em Roma de madrugada, e ainda ainda tinha que pegar o trem em Roma Termini, para ir para Assis. Mas o que eu não sabia era que a estação de Roma fechava!
Então tive que ficar na rua - ali da estação, até dar 5 a.m. Confesso que fiquei bem tensa, pois o ambiente ali naquela rua era tenso; gente bebada, umas pessoas com aspecto de pilantra, rua intupida de lixo e tudo pixado... tentei ficar em uma zona iluminada e perto do McDonalds - que não estava muito bem acompanhado em sua frente.
Quando a estação abriu, deu glória, e entrei super rápido! A estação de Roma Termini, é quase como um shopping em aberto; tem lojas chiques, livraria, restaurantes e por ai vai, além de ter também a linha do metrô subterrânea.
Enquanto esperava o horários do meu trem para Perúgia, fiquei namorando uns mangas de um livraria que ainda estava fechada, e desenhando meu namorado - no qual desejava que pudesse estar ali comigo!

Hello, everyone!
Shall we continue with the posts from my trip to Italy? Today will be Day 1 — the moment I landed on Italian territory.
This day was basically for traveling, eating, and sleeping! But let’s go step by step...
The flight arrived in Rome at dawn, and I still had to take the train at Roma Termini to go to Assisi. But what I didn’t know was that the Rome station closes!
So I had to stay outside — right there by the station — until 5 a.m. I confess I was very tense, because the environment on that street was tense; drunk people, some shady-looking folks, the street full of trash and everything covered in graffiti… I tried to stay in a lit area and close to the McDonald’s — which also didn’t have the best company standing in front of it.
When the station opened, it felt like glory, and I went inside super fast! Roma Termini is almost like an mall; it has chic stores, a bookstore, restaurants, and so on, and it also has the underground metro line.
While I waited for my train to Perugia, I spent some time admiring some manga in a bookstore that was still closed, and drawing my boyfriend — wishing he could be there with me!
Ao chegar na estação de Assis, eu estava morrendo de sono! Pois não dormira a noite toda: nem no vôo, nem no ônibus e muito menos no trem pois não queria perder o ponto!
Cheguei pela manhã - a foto acima é do momento que cheguei na estação de Assis. Já era claro. Umas amigas viram me encontrar, e fomos direto para o local no qual eu ia me hospedar: um convento! Sim, eu fiquei no convento. Foi uma experiência muito diferente mas única!
O local era extremamente limpo e organizado, com uma decoração "clean" e tradicional. Eu não sou cristã, mas me senti super acolhida e fui muito bem tratada pelas freiras que ali residiam.

Upon arriving at the station in Assisi, I was dying of sleep! I hadn’t slept the entire night: not on the flight, not on the bus, and even less on the train, because I didn’t want to miss my stop!
I arrived in the morning — the photo above is from the moment I arrived at the Assisi station. It was already bright outside. Some friends came to meet me, and we went straight to the place where I was going to stay: a convent! Yes, I stayed in a convent. It was a very different but unique experience!
The place was extremely clean, organized and traditional decoration. I am not Christian, but I felt very welcomed and was treated extremely well by the nuns who lived there.
Mas voltando na linha do tempo, da chegada em Assis, eu estava tão cansada que simplesmente adormeci. Já não me lembro ao certo, mas acho que dormi até o meio da tarde.
Quando já estava mais descansada da viagem, fui encontrar com minhas amigas para darmos uma andada em Assis, e comer algo.

But going back in the timeline, to my arrival in Assisi, I was so tired that I simply fell asleep. I no longer remember exactly, but I think I slept until the middle of the afternoon.
When I was already more rested from the trip, I went to meet my friends so we could walk around Assisi and eat something.
Fomos comer uma piatina - uma espécie de wrap, recheado e servido quente. Honestamente, eu não sou nenhum pouco fã da culinária italiana mas essa piatina era divina e eu comeria todo dia! E depois fomos tomar o famoso gelato - sorvete em italiano. O sorvete Italiano é um dos melhores que eu já comi, em todos os países que já visitei.
A sorveteria que íamos, é a impressa no guardanapo da foto - sim, pois fomos nela todos os dias! No último dia, a dona até deu de brinde para minha amiga um pacote de biscoitos tradicionais dali.
Assis é uma cidade realmente muito bonita e histórica. Seja de dia ou a noite, que ganha uma magia muito especial na iluminação das ruas de pedras. E como era época de Halloween, e eu estava relendo um dos meus livros favoritos "Drácula the Bram Stoker", o clima a noite realmente me lembrava cenas desse conto.

We went to eat a piatina — a kind of wrap, filled and served hot. Honestly, I am not at all a fan of Italian cuisine, but this piatina was divine and I would eat it every day! And afterwards we went to have the famous gelato — ice cream in Italian. Italian ice cream is one of the best I’ve ever had, in all the countries I’ve visited.
The ice cream shop we used to go to is the one printed on the napkin in the photo — yes, because we went there every single day! On the last day, the owner even gave my friend a bag of traditional cookies from there as a gift.
Assisi is truly a very beautiful and historic city. Whether during the day or at night — when it gains a very special magic from the lighting on the stone streets. And since it was Halloween season, and I was rereading one of my favorite books, “Drácula the Bram Stoker”, the atmosphere at night really reminded me of scenes from that tale.
Nesse dia, o dia acabou sendo mais curto pois tive que dormir durando a tarde, né? Hehe
Mas a noite minhas amigas tiveram que voltar para o alojamento delas, e eu fiquei andando um pouco pelas ruas - que já conheço de cor! Tantas as vezes que estive em Assis, começando em 2009. Mas é como matar a saudade!
Eu passei em uma lojinha que tem a beira da Piazza Comune - uma praça bem conhecida na região, até como ponto de referência. Essa lojinha vendia coisas turísticas , mas também tinha bastante coisas de anime, filme e temática medieval - o comum são mais lojinhs religiosas e turísticas na região.
Eu amo coisas da época medieval - inclusive terá um post aqui no blog, sobre um evento medieval que eu fui recentemente, com vlog! Tinha até coisas do filme "Senhor dos Anéis", que é um dos meus favoritos! Espadas! Eu amo espadas! Espadas medievais e katanas japonesas! Se pudesse levar no avião espadas, eu teria uma medieval e outra katana.

That day ended up being shorter because I had to sleep during the afternoon, right? Hehe
But at night my friends had to go back to their lodging, and I walked a bit through the streets — which I already know by heart! I’ve been to Assisi so many times, starting in 2009. But it feels like killing the longing!
I passed by a little shop right at the edge of Piazza Comune — a very well-known square in the region, even used as a reference point. This little shop sold tourist items, but it also had lots of things related to anime, movies, and medieval themes — which is not the usual, since most shops in the area are more religious and tourist-oriented.
I love medieval-era things — in fact, there will be a post here on the blog about a medieval event I recently attended, with a vlog! They even had items from the movie “The Lord of the Rings,” which is one of my favorites! Swords! I love swords! Medieval swords and Japanese katanas! If I could take swords on a plane, I would have one medieval sword and one katana.
